About 12 Dovedale Road
Small it may be, but this garden is successfully separated into three distinct parts with paths weaving in and round which makes the garden feel larger than it actually is.
There is the wooded area at the rear, filled with choisya, hydraengas, a dramatic 20 year old white Magnolia Grandiflora, a mature olive tree and by late summer, a berried pyracantha attracting much bird attention (the local parakeets and the rather fat pigeons are tolerated rather than encouraged, with seed for smaller birds tucked away out of the big boys reach!!)
The centre of the garden offers a combination of shrubs and perennials with roses, ceanothus, wonderful bushy white and pink fuchsias and helianthus (in late summer).
The sunbaked third area near the house has a selection of potted plants that enjoy the warmer temperatures, with grasses- such as Hackonlechloa, softening the spaces.
