Plants are my passion and many have been grown from seed. For me plants represent people and places I have worked in: Araujia from Batignano, a standard Wisteria seen in Cardiff, Azalea Luteum in Luzern, Mimosa in Spain. Family and friends come in the form of Fuchsias, an unusual pineapple scented Philadelphus, a Cleodendrum and a fig to name but a few. When trying new plants I always seem tempted by climbers and fortunately I have a large pergola to display the many and varied forms. I aim to encourage wildlife as much as possible and succeed with a continual stream of bees of all shapes and sizes almost throughout the year. As well as plants I grow fruit and vegetables having bushes of several different coloured currants and a large loganberry. Recently I planted a collection of cordon fruit trees in lieu of a crab apple tree that sadly had to be removed. Indoors I have small collections of vivid Achimines, Streptocarpus and Kohleria with the occasional striking Begonia Rex and outrageous Cyrtanthus elatus (Scarborough lily).
