About 24 Carlton Road North
Four raised beds divided by narrow gravel paths in the part-walled front garden form the vegetable plot. Mixed planting fills the surrounding beds.
The long back garden is on several levels and divided into areas of different planting which we rather grandly refer to as the woodland area, long border, gravel garden, Cornus and jungle beds. Steps and narrow sloping paths lead to these beds and borders overflowing with trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. Unusual plants including exotics in interesting combinations merit a second look. There is also a small lawn and a patio area with pots.
We are interested in wildlife and many plants have been chosen to encourage birds, bees and butterflies. A small pond is the latest addition. A garden of discovery reflecting an interest in texture, shape, colour, wildlife and above all plants which continues to evolve each year.
