About Askham Hall

Just a couple of miles from Penrith, visitors can meander through the beautiful gardens of Askham Hall, which include long terraces of colourful herbaceous borders, topiary, ponds, meadows and wooded areas as well as a kitchen garden and stunning views of the River Lowther and Lowther Church. In one of the fields alongside the kitchen garden are animals which can be seen as part of the garden route. Rare-breed pigs and goats, ducks, shorthorn cattle and chickens are among the animals that live there. The produce which is grown and reared here provides for the owners pub and restaurant in nearby Clifton – the George and Dragon, as well as their latest addition the Queen’s Head pub Askham, and Askham Hall itself (hotel, Michelin starred restaurant, wedding barn).
