About Bidborough Gardens

Bidborough Garden Group includes Boundes End, Sheerdrop, 4 The Crescent, 8 Dower House Crescent, 12 Bounds Oak Way and 7 Brookhurst Gardens.

Please pay entrance and collect garden list and map from Boundes End.
The group includes six very different gardens in the village:
Boundes End: This owner designed garden is on an unusually shaped plot with the 2 areas of garden being formed from 2 linked triangles. The front garden is mostly planted with shrubs in slightly raised beds with a small area of grass. The top garden has a formal layout with lawn, terrace, patio, pergolas, paths, and lots of pots. Planting is relaxed with small trees. shrubs and perennials. The lower garden is in a woodland setting, with mini orchard, island beds, a fire circle, dry stream feature and a display of old tools.
Sheerdrop: The formal part of the garden was designed by Roger Platt. It is laid out on a sloping hillside site in terraces accessed by steps with handrails. It has wonderful views down the valley and across to Bidborough Church. It is beautifully planted with a variety of shrubs and perennials. Go through the moon gate to the vegetable garden and then on to the woodland garden that has been developed over the last few years. The woodland garden is also on a slope, it has paths through the trees, taking you past ponds and a water feature.
4 The Crescent; this is a new garden which, 4 years ago had just a few unappealing shrubs down one side. A sense of a cottage garden is being created which will be peaceful with not too much going on. Planting will grow together as the years progress.
8 Dower House Crescent: A small garden with front and back lawns surrounded by shrubs and cottage garden style planting, providing year round interest and an abundance of colour.
In the rear garden there is a greenhouse and a fruit cage with raised beds for growing a selection of fruit, vegetables and dahlias, and also various seating areas.
12 Bounds Oak Way: A landscaped family garden with large perennial beds providing continual colour throughout the year.
It features a fig tree (Italian corner), acers and large beech hedges. The sun decking area, central lawn and formal bed are all circular designs. Within the structured beds a varied range of plants – roses, dahlias, alliums, salvia and lupins produce a riot of colour to raise the spirits and make us smile.
7 Brookhurst Gardens: It is a nicely established garden with some designed elements. An abundance of flowers through the spring and summer with a cool colour palette enhanced by some evergreen structure.
