About Braxted Park Estate

The idyllic gardens at Braxted Park, a prestigious luxury events venue, welcomes gardeners to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
It is particularly lovely in early June, when extensive plantings of herbaceous perennials, mixed shrub borders and different types of roses abound. Central to the Estate is the historic Walled Garden, which features a number of individually themed gardens that radiate from the central fountain and parasol mulberry trees, rarely seen in the UK. These include a Black and White Garden, Italian Garden and English Garden, each containing a wealth of design and planting inspiration.
A hidden gem is the Fan Garden, which provides produce and cut flowers for owners Duncan and Nicky Clark and nectar and shelter to bees and other beneficial insects. Elsewhere, well stocked beds and borders flank the route taken by visitors from the main house (not open) to the Walled Garden.
Beyond the house an extensive area of new native meadow has been created between house and lakes. A walk around the lake itself rewards with magnificent views back to the house, parkland and historic Braxted Church. Not to be missed.
.

The Orangery will be open for Ploughmans lunches and of course the obligatory cake, by the slice and to 'take home'. Tea, coffee or a glass of wine available. Head Gardener, Andrea Cooper, will be on hand to answer questions and guided tours for a further donation of £5pp payable upon the day.
