About Bridge Cottage

Amport is a pretty village with a beautiful village green. This 2 acre garden is a haven for wildlife and has been developed over the last 24 years by the current owners from a completely overgrown site.

The initial newly planted narrow part of the garden suddenly widens out to show a ½ acre spring fed lake which is edged with glorious herbaceous borders. A trout stream runs for about 200 metres at one side of the garden. There are many trout, water voles and kingfishers. There is a large organic vegetable garden and a similarly large soft fruit cage, a small mixed orchard and arboretum with unusual trees.

The superb plant sale is always very popular. Treasure hunt for children. Come early and bring a picnic on the green, or stay for the homemade cream tea in a marquee.
