Caynton Cottage

A traditional cottage garden designed and planted by the owners since 2013 from a neglected and overgrown plot surrounding a C15 thatched cottage (not open). Planted with a good selection of shrubs and perennials for maximum all year interest with a small wildlife pond and dry stream. It is ever changing as the plants grow and mature to fill the space, with new features added each season.

About Caynton Cottage

Ten years on and as some plants have grown well, others obviously didn’t like the sunny position and very free draining soil they had; now there is a little shade being created by the shrubs new planting combinations which are being tried and new features planned. The dry stream is evolving into a real feature as the plants have grown to fill the banks, and the rose/clematis rope is filling out well. A small meadow area is the latest addition.
