About Chesham Bois House
The 3 acre garden surrounds the Georgian house (not open) on all 4 sides and there is something of interest for most of the yr. Three vistas, one of which has a rill leading to a small ornamental canal with a gazebo at the end, many places to sit and contemplate the garden. There is a former bowling green over 300 yrs old with a magnificent sycamore that provides an interesting diversion. The large herbaceous beds, walled garden, terrace and other areas are full of plants, some of which are unusual. Handsome trees, especially copper beeches give the garden a peaceful and comfortable air.
Close to the garden the 800 yr old church can also be visited. Please book a visit by either telephoning 01494 726139 or emailing office@ stleonardscb.org.uk.
