Chestnut Farm

Mature three acre garden developed over 60 years with collections of many rare and unusual plants and trees. 100+ varieties of snowdrops, drifts of crocus with seasonal flowering shrubs. Later, wood anemones, fritillary meadow, wildflower walk, pond, small arboretum, croquet lawn and colourful herbaceous borders. In May the handkerchief tree, cercis, camassias and early roses. Always something new.

About Chestnut Farm

The garden has been in the same ownership for the last 55 years giving lots of planting opportunities with trees and shrubs able to reach maturity. The latest planting in the arboretum is a Chinese Wingnut tree (Pterocarrya) Do come and see it. We are also particularly proud of our Handkerchief tree.
Usually there are plants for sale and visiting nurseries.

Visit by Arrangement

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from 25 February to 28 July for groups of between 10 and 30.
