About Copper Corners
Copper Corners has been developed over 19 years, adding borders, trees and hedges. The planting provides interest throughout the seasons, from the many spring bulbs through to the winter flowering shrubs, but is especially colourful during summer months. A place to listen to and spot birds.
There are about 80 different roses throughout the garden and part of an old orchard including the prominent apple – Lord Darby. Great use of ground cover plants reduces the constant need to weed and allows for natives and self-seeders to grow, creating an ever-changing tapestry of plants. Parts of the lawn are left unmown during the summer months to provide shelter for grass frogs and other wildlife.
The paddock is left unmown during summer, with mown paths through. Cow parsley and several species of grass create a haven for insects. There are also areas of nettles, thistles and ragwort which provide food for species of butterfly and moth.
A vegetable garden provides a space to grow low maintenance crops such as potatoes, beans, squashes and garlic. Surrounding native hedges provide shelter and food for birds and other wildlife.
