Crookley Pool

Here the plants choose where to grow. Californian tree poppies elbow valerian aside to crowd round the pool. Verbena ‘Bampton’ obstructs the way to the door. This is a plantsman’s garden with borders full of colour and unusual shrubs and tender perennials, salvias thrive in this warm and sheltered garden. Pandorea jasminoides, Justicia and Ageratum share the greenhouse with the tomatoes. Hellebores bloom under the trees, a 100 yr old wisteria rampages along pergolas, walls and terraces.
