About Crûg Farm

Sue and Bleddyn Wynne-Jones have travelled the world hunting for plants. Many of the plants you will see are new – not seen in cultivation before. Do not worry if you do not recognise them as help is at hand. Sue and Bleddyn have yet to meet anybody who can walk through the gardens and recognise everything they see. From the woodland you make your way into the walled garden – here you will see more wonderful collections growing.

On a visit Stephen Lacey described he walk as ‘squeezing and ducking through foliage as lush as a wooded Asian valley – palm-like Schefflera and Daphnipyllum, huge-leafed Tetrapanax, all wonderful stuff’. As Roy Lancaster said after his first visit ‘I left reluctantly with one thought in my head; if heaven is like this, here’s hoping’.

In 2024 Crûg Farm will open for the NGS and are proud to be supplying plants for the NGS Chelsea Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith. The retail nursery at Crûg Farm is now only available by prior appointment. A selection of plants will be available at the Open Garden on Saturday 15 July, however if you wish to pre-order plants for collection on the day please get in touch with [email protected]
