About Dassett House
This ever changing front garden is framed by a combination of the old brick walls and the local warm toned Hornton Stone, from which the house has been built. With deep herbaceous beds and some mature shrubs there is a nice range of materials, proportions and garden structure. This front garden is best viewed from the raised terrace of the house, which is clad with a mature wisteria.
A combination of ‘inherited’ plants and subsequent additions, the beds in this walled garden have gradually deepened over the years. The planting is soft and informal and set within the wonderful boundary walls.
Sadly the central feature tree has died and is in need of replacing, but hopefully this tranquil space can still be enjoyed by visitors who can enjoy some of the mature specimens and planting.
The orchard is very informal, with the magnificent back drop of an ancient woodland. The orchard is also home to 2 alpaca – Anatolp and Vlad. Whilst the walk up to the orchard is quite steep, the views across to Edge Hill are magnificent.
