From the yew hedge towards the River Thame is an apple orchard underplanted with spring bulbs. 6 Monks Close (OX10 7JA) is idyllic and surprising. Small spring-fed stream and sloping lawn surrounded by naturalistic planting runs down to monastic fish pond. Bridges over deep pond lead to River Thame. Dorchester Manor House (OX10 7HZ)Two acre garden set around Georgian house (not open) and medieval abbey. Spacious lawn leading to riverside copse of towering poplars with fine views of Dorchester Abbey. Terrace with rose and vine covered pergola around lily pond. Colourful herbaceous borders, small orchard and vegetable garden. Due to deep water at gardens, children should be accompanied at all times.
