About Duncanne House
A one acre, secluded town garden within a garden, which borrows its tree and hedge enclosure from surrounding gardens.
The front garden is a birch glade with swathes of spring bulbs and shrubs leading to a theatrical rear garden. This consists of a water feature, sculptural grass bank, lawns, grass paths and beds of grasses, herbaceous perennials and mounds of evergreen shrubs. Sub enclosure is formed by curved beech hedging that peels away from the surrounding boundary to enclose small wildflower meadow adjacent to the perimeter of the garden.
Two vistas are terminated by a tree house and rustic tea pavilion. The whole garden features extensive lighting so also comes alive at dusk. The garden is the product of a husband and wife team, who have developed the garden over the last 10 years. The former is a landscape architect Partner of designers Gillespies LLP and the latter a garden tour operator with Sisley Garden Tours.
