About East Down Barn
The current owners (3rd since inception) have almost completed the long road to restoration to a state in keeping with its original award winning status. A spring garden it is considered to be at its best in April and May.
Garden laid down between 1986-1991 with the conversion of the barn into a home and covers almost ½ acre of east sloping land with stream running north-south acting as the easterly boundary. 3 terraces before garden starts to level out at the stream. Garden won awards in the early years under the stewardship of the original owners.

Directions to East Down Barn
Turn off A38 at Hayloft restaurant/railway stn junction & head towards Menheniot village. Follow NGS signs from sharp LH bend as you enter village.
This garden has now completed its National Garden Scheme openings for this year.
