Two acre garden with generous colourful herbaceous borders, wildlife pond, specimen trees and shrubs, productive vegetable beds. Grass path walks through wildflower meadows in lovely countryside, art and craft installations by local artists and crafters.

About Higher Orchard Cottage

Hidden away in beautiful countryside just outside Paignton. Flower filled borders delight the eye with colour and form. The grassland is being managed to develop wild flower meadows. The garden is a haven for wildlife, recognised by Devon Wildlife Trust. All garden paths are on grass. You are invited to take a garden seat and relax and enjoy.
Each year the garden is a showcase for local artists and crafters. Featured artists/crafters are often in residence ready to chat to visitors about their work. The featured work is also available to purchase.
2026 expected exhibitors include:
‘Oh I do like to Bee’ – handmade beeswax creams and scented melts
