About Higher Tippacott Farm

When we came to live here 28 years ago, it was a house in a field and so it has been exciting to develop a garden from a blank canvas. The immediate natural and dominant Exmoor countryside has influenced the way the garden has been laid out, so that it blends into the surroundings and defers to the views. The available area of 1 hectare means that there is always space to do things and so projects are always underway in the garden. The manner of grazing the field is now different, in an effort to increase wildflower content. Our young orchard has apple trees specially grafted for us from local and sometimes unusual varieties, by our friend and local expert.
