About Hillcrest

Experience the warmest welcome for which this garden’s owner and helpers are well known. Enjoy the transition from the more formal parterre, via the viewing terrace, with intriguing glimpses of the lower garden, to the Rose garden with its variegated Tulip tree then follow the paths which weave their way to the mysterious woodland garden further on. Interesting trees such as Liriodendron, Eucalyptus, Stewartia, Embothrium, Cercidiphyllum, Quercus Rubra, Davidia and Cornus Kousa abound. A long perennial border fronts a Rhododendron area. Quaint little shelters, home made from reclaimed materials, provide ideal resting places.

Throughout the garden there are numerous habitats for wildlife to make homes and find food.
In addition to open days, the garden owner is pleased to arrange private visits by individuals or groups, as there are features of interest in the garden from tulips in April, handkerchiefs, firebushes and cornuses in May/June, right through to the glorious autumnal hues of the trees.
.

Tulips in April, glorious blooms of the Chilean firebushes, handkerchief tree and Cornuses in May and many trees in their autumnal splendour.
