Kingfishers Care Home

This colourful and vibrant care home garden offers wide winding paths to stroll to its various points of interest; colourful herbaceous borders, a lavender avenue, pergola, greenhouse and vegetable patch and, the recent addition, a fascinating water feature. Residents are very involved in the garden with planning, propagating plants, and building habitats for all our fauna.

About Kingfishers Care Home

Kingfishers is an outstanding Care Home that prides itself on its garden – with an understanding of how the garden can benefit our residents and the therapeutic effects it can offer. Sunshine, fresh air, a colourful and tranquil space does wonders for the mind, body and soul. Finding a space to sit next to the scented roses, strolling to find the latest flowering shrub or finding a shady corner to share with your friends and relatives – these are all elements that this garden has been designed around.

Its pergola offers a home for many climbers including roses. The herbaceous borders are brimming with vibrant colour and the green house offers culinary delights! The vegetable patch shows promise of a good harvest. The shingle bed shows off what can thrive in a hot dry border and the sculptures are placed for year round intrigue. The gazebos provide a shady sanctuary with the sound of the water accompanying this tranquil space. There are so many elements to this garden for our visitors and residents to explore, and it is with great pride that we open for the National Garden Scheme – to share it with our fellow garden enthusiast.

Home-made teas include beautiful home-made cakes made by our in house chef. Dietary requirements can be catered for.
