About Loseley Park
The two and a half acre Walled Garden, based on a design by Gertrude Jekyll, is divided into five ‘rooms’: The award-winning Rose Garden is planted with over 1000 old fashioned rose bushes (bourbons, gallicas, rugosas, albas, moss, damask and English), all framed by long low box hedges, with a rose covered gazebo as the central feature. (At its peak in June/early July.) The Herb Garden, planted with over 200 herbs (some dating back to ancient times), is divided into 4 separate sections – culinary, medicinal, household and ornamental. The Fruit and Flower Garden is designed to provide interest and colour throughout the season by combining the more traditional herbaceous plants with mixed shrubs and drifts of annuals and bulbs. The White Garden, as a total contrast, is serene and tranquil with a water feature and our spectacular Organic Vegetable Garden specialising in companion planting. Other features include ancient wisteria (under-planted with velvety purple irises – in its full glory in May), mulberry tree (reputed to have been planted by Queen Elizabeth I), magnificent vine walk, moat walk and tennis court border, a selection of the plants found within the Walled Garden have been propagated and grown for sale. This area is situated next to the greenhouses. For further details please ring 01483 304440
