Whinney Lane Barn is a classic cottage garden with dahlias, a cutting garden and a sunken outdoor space for refreshments amid the blooms. Some paths are grassy/uneven or have steps, so not all areas are wheelchair accessible.

On the outskirts of the Ribble Valley, the Mellor & Clayton-le-Dale group features three beautiful and individual gardens, each offering a unique blend of character, creativity, and horticultural inspiration. Ranging in size and design, every garden presents something different — from clever planting combinations and varied landscaping to peaceful wildlife havens and charming entertaining spaces.
85 Ribchester Road is a delightful suburban garden packed with features. Herbaceous borders brim with seasonal colour, while decorative ironwork arches and a pergola add vertical interest. A formal pond and a separate wildlife pond enhance the garden’s appeal, creating calm corners for reflection and biodiversity.
Holly Cottage is thoughtfully divided into a series of distinct areas. A new pond sits within a meadow, encouraging wildlife and framing stunning countryside views. Raised vegetable beds, a composter, secluded seating areas, and an enclosed cottage garden filled with perennials, edibles and climbers make this garden both productive and picturesque.
