About Moelfryn

Organic, environmentally friendly and recycling concerns have moulded our garden of a herb labyrinth, asparagus patch, cottage garden borders, vegetable beds, poly tunnel, brassica tunnel, fruit cage, an orchard and small wildflower meadow area, shrubs, small wooded/wild patch, semi-free ranging hens, hedgehog house, bug hotels, bird boxes and bat boxes, small pond and bog garden, Interesting arches, compost bins, water butts and a collection of 50 varieties of mints. Sitting areas and views.
This is a garden with hedges and picket fence boundaries on a Welsh hillside plot of about 1/3rd acre including the bungalow. Steps and slopes and paths, of concrete, sleepers, grass and slate chippings abound. Hydrangeas are to be found in most areas, of various sizes and colours. You will discover various quirky structures dotted around, can you find the Scarecrow? The courtyard and patio provide seating for relaxing surrounded by the shrub bank, potted fruit trees, our mint collection and pops of colour depending on the season. Seating is also to be found in various viewing spots around the garden. From the top level you look towards the Betws mountains and on a clear day the north Devon coast and Steep Holme are clearly seen. Vegetables beds and tunnels feed us all the year and the ornamental beds provide visual impact and interest and ample opportunity for bees and butterflies to feed. Look out for lizards, slow worms and grass snakes, frogs and toads, moles and more all of which we see around the garden.
