Looking out over the dramatic views of the Dee estuary from a lofty perch on the Wirral peninsula, Ness Botanic Gardens boasts 64 acres of landscaped and natural gardens overflowing with horticultural treasures. With a delightfully peaceful atmosphere, a wide array of events taking place, plus a café and gorgeous open spaces it is a great fun-filled day out for all the family.

About Ness Botanic Gardens

Ness Botanic Gardens is home to an array of interesting specimens which continue to thrive in the garden, including Pieris Forrestii which was collected for the Garden founder, AK Bulley, by George Forrest in Yunnan, China. Ness Botanic Gardens also houses National Collections of Sorbus and Betula. Our snowdrops are famed far and wide and include over 200 species. Witch hazel abounds during the winter months. As the year marches on Ness begins to boasts extensive collections of azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias and all manner of other flora which flourish in the microclimate of this cove of the Wirral peninsula.

Off A540. M53 J4, follow signs M56 & A5117 (signed N Wales). Turn onto A540 follow signs for Hoylake. Ness Gardens is signed locally. 487 bus takes visitors travelling from Liverpool, Birkenhead etc.
