Mature garden behind a 500 year old cottage. Distinct areas are separated by old walls and steps. At entrance level is a courtyard with climbers, pots and seating, leading to a circular lawn surrounded by mixed herbaceous borders. Steps lead up to an old apple tree with shrubs and cottage herbaceous planting. Beyond is a formal pond, with further borders leading to fields with trees and space.

The planting is informal with different styles in the various separate garden areas, which end by opening out into fields and edging onto countryside. In late May/early June the main interest is in paeonies and roses, at their best in the herbaceous borders. The courtyard contains a large wisteria which might also be in bloom at this time.
Future plans for the garden include the creation of a nature pond and bog garden.
