About Primrose Bank Garden and Nursery

A two acre plantswoman’s garden surrounded by open farmland, planted in both modern and traditional styles with rare and unusual plant varieties, shrubs and ornamental trees. Bulbs, hellebores and flowering shrubs in spring, followed by planting to give interest throughout the year. Courtyard garden, formal front garden with mixed borders, seating areas, summerhouse, arbour and pond. Lawned areas leading to a shade garden and on to the Woodland garden with large pond, stumpery, woodcarvings and a shepherds hut. Productive vegetable garden with cut flower area alongside an ornamental herb garden. An old orchard provides a home for rare breeds of poultry and a small flock of Hebridean sheep graze in the field alongside the car park.

Plants for sale in adjoining RHS Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal winning nursery.

Poultry and Hebridean sheep. Dogs allowed on a short lead in car park and at designated tables outside the tearoom. CL Caravan Site (CAMC members only) adjoining the nursery.

At Junc of A64 & A1079 take rd signed to Hull. After 3m, just as entering Kexby, turn R onto Dauby Ln, signed for Elvington. From the E travel on A1079 towards York. Turn L in Kexby.
