About Snares Hill Cottage
This peaceful garden has been our pleasure and delight for 25 years. During this time we have developed many different areas as inspiration and energy allowed. A natural spring fed bog garden borders woodland, and a silver birch copse shades a ‘Classic’ temple. Our natural swimming pool, which featured in Grand Designs magazine and on Gardeners’ World, is sheltered by an old apple orchard in which we have built a treehouse and Shepherds Hut. Surrounding the pool are romantic flower beds, a herb garden and a Gothic changing room. An old bell tower set in a formal bed, separates this area from the vegetable patch. The lower garden is laid to curved informal flower beds and is bordered by a brick terrace outside of a well stocked conservatory and an octagonal water feature with a copper peace lily fountain. The garden has many smaller areas including a fernery, cliff, sink garden, green roof and a beach area. Additional interests are a small collection of classic cars and motorbikes. We spend many happy hours in our garden and look forward to sharing it with others.
