About Stanton Village Gardens
For one afternoon only. Stanton is an unspoilt, peaceful C17 Cotswold village nestling under the escarpment. The main street has remained relatively unchanged for centuries. Many houses border the street giving no clue to their long, well-tended gardens hidden behind. Larger gardens vary with colourful herbaceous borders, established trees, shrubs and vegetable gardens, also tiny cottage gardens packed with interest. Some gardens have natural water features fed by the stream which runs through the village, this adds to the ambience and beauty and encourages wildlife. There are good examples for planting in light and shade. A great variety of plants may be found and the diversity of the gardens offer delight and inspiration to every visitor.
A competitively priced plant stall, in the centre of the village, offers a wide variety of donated plants all grown in local gardens. The delicious teas & cakes are legendary, you will find these refreshments in selected gardens.
A unique opportunity for anyone who enjoys visiting gardens to explore the hidden secrets of this beautiful, unspoilt, Cotswold village. An NGS visit not to be missed. Free parking.
