About The Laurels
An informal one acre garden which has evolved over the last ten years. The garden is a mixture of traditional cottage garden planting, including shrubs, flower borders and topiary. Climbing roses and clematis scramble through mature trees and over structures with many garden rooms and sitting areas to immerse yourself in the planting. Wildlife is encouraged, with areas left to the wild to provide shelter for birds, insects and animals. There is a wooded area which has shade loving plants, including hostas, leading to an orchard which is liable to flooding. A bridge over the dyke takes you past rhododendrons towards a small meadow and summer house. The garden is undulating with gravel paths and sloping grass banks.
