About The Old Coach House
The backdrop to this garden is the Dyfi River and surrounding hills. The garden has evolved over the years so that it consists of informal flower beds, shrubs, a gravel bed and narrow meandering paths.
The garden has evolved over the eighteen years we’ve been here with moves to make the garden easier to manage. A bark mulch has been added to a now predominantly border of shrubs, this leads to an area filled with roses.
A white border runs the length of the garden, a new wildflower bed with fruit trees is in development with a camomile path linking the two. Acers create a shady spot to sit, with benches overlooking the river providing different views.
Garden sheds previously used as stables, large compost bays, greenhouses and a poly tunnel are
hidden away from the main garden. Plants are chosen to attract pollinating insects and wildlife to the garden.
