The White Cottage

Surrounded by fields, this newly renovated garden is in its infancy and has been designed by the present owners. Planted in 2021 little remains of the original garden and the planting lends itself to a more naturalistic approach. Influenced by designers such as Nigel Dunnett and Noel Kingsbury plants mingle with each other and at this early stage many are very much still on trial.

About The White Cottage

The garden is about ? acre in size and wraps around the cottage with a secret sunset seat in the field edge. A vintage gate from Gujarat allows a view of the adjoining “Good Ale”field. 3 established roses remain and form a part of a mixed rose bed at the front and this meets the new naturalistic crescent shaped bed which replaced an old building. There is also a courtyard with established vines and raised beds.

This garden is a combined opening with Wensum Farmhouse, 100y beyond us where there is plenty of parking and tea and delicious cakes will be served. Nearby, in driving distance is Wensum House which opens separately.
