Towan House

Towan House is a coastal garden with some unusual plants and views to St Mawes, St Anthony Head lighthouse and beyond with easy access to the SW coast path overlooking Falmouth Bay. It is approximately ¼ acre and divided into 2 gardens, one exposed to the north and east winds, the other sheltered allowing tropical plants to flourish such as Hedychium, Tetrapanax and cannas.

About Towan House

Towan House is a coastal garden with some unusual plants and views to St. Mawes,
St. Anthony Head lighthouse and beyond with easy access to the SW coast path overlooking Falmouth Bay. It is approximately ¼ acre and divided into two gardens, one exposed to the north and east winds, the other sheltered allowing tropical plants to flourish such as ‘Hedychium’ and cannas. There is a greenhouse and raised vegetable beds.
A pond nestles in a sunny corner. Camellias, rhododendrons, pittosporums and grasses add structure and shelter giving unusual plants such as Cassia Corymbosa, Drimy lanceolata ‘Red Spice’, Marsdenia oreophila and Corokia a chance to thrive.
Succulents can be found on the open terrace and a balcony provides views out to sea where sailing boats can be seen enjoying fine weather.

Directions to Towan House
On entering Mawnan Smith, fork L at the Red Lion pub. When you see the gate to Nansidwell, turn R into Old Church Rd. Follow NGS signs.

Visit by Arrangement

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from 6 June to 15 September for groups of between 5 and 20.

Please contact the garden owner to discuss your requirements and arrange a date for a group or bespoke visit.
