About Turvey Village Gardens
The Chantry is a 1.5 acre garden and is approached by a drive bounded by mature yew and box Cloud hedges. The medieval Church of All Saints overlooks the garden at this point. A south facing lawn is flanked by high rose covered walls and interspersed by herbaceous beds, roses and wisterias. Through the courtyard, passing the white garden, continue round to the north lawn with further rose beds above the terrace.
7 The Green is an informal village garden of 1/5 acre which aims to relax rather than impress. A wide terrace with comfortable seating and a myriad (100 plus) of planted pots overlooks a central lawn and flowerbeds which slope down to flowering cherries and a view of pasture and mature trees. A well used and loved family space.
Peppers is a small, informal garden that aims to attract wildlife and achieve year-round interest. The mixed planting includes trees, shrubs, roses, clematis and many pollinator-friendly perennials. Two seating areas at opposite ends of the garden offer a place to enjoy either the morning or afternoon/evening sun – perfect for a cup of tea or glass of wine! Tucked away in the far corner is a summerhouse.
Gable End is a medium-sized garden consisting of four distinct areas. A small front garden leads into a courtyard with flowers and vegetables surrounding the house. A path leads on through a planted shady space dominated by a mulberry tree. The path continues through a gate into what feels like a secret garden, a peaceful place for people and wildlife, which begs to be explored.
