About Weeping Ash Garden
Situated adjacent to Bents Garden & Home in Glazebury, Cheshire, Weeping Ash is a breathtaking garden which has been created by retired nurseryman, John Bent. Initially created over 40 years ago using a piece of vacant land that once housed nurseries and greenhouses, Weeping Ash has evolved into an established garden where each section is hidden from the next and carefully designed to create tranquil scenes of clarity and perfection.
Made up of a series of circles joined together using ponds and flowerbeds, the garden creates a sense of secrecy for visitors with features including a water garden bordered by wildflower turf banks. John has allowed plants to develop as they would in the wild, reseeding where they land and allowing natural progression and growth; nature at its best.
It is garden of all year interest and a joy to experience at any time, intoxicating in summer and magical as the seasons start to change.
A bridge and weir form a centrepiece to the garden which also features more than 100 varieties of snowdrops during the early months of the year. It has recently been extended to add a further two acres including a central lawn, perennial beds, a new rockery, pond and beautiful Woodland Walk.
Weeping Ash welcomes all ages and is somewhere for everyone to enjoy, with its secret garden rooms, hidden paths and imaginative planting.
