About 100 Colne Road

Enter through industrial sliding doors into an enclosed courtyard, planted with cobea scandens in large zinc containers and a pair of 19ft jacquemontii silver Birches in a bespoke oak and iron planter. A spiral staircase gives access to the roof garden, sheltered by an 8 m Prunus lusitanica hedge. Packed with a subtle mix of sun loving annuals and perennials in purple and whites, with evergreen structural planting, an espaliered pear and a grape vine.
Access past a mini lean-to greenhouse provides views of the rear workshop roof area, currently being planted with a biodiverse mix of sedum and wild flowers and whatever has turned up! Approx. 3500 litres of rainwater collected onsite with irrigation and water pump systems in place, and bespoke ‘sedum hat beds’ made to disguise and protect the low roof water storage tanks.

There is also access to a ground floor, small stable block paved, working brick walled courtyard beside the cottage with 25 year old Wisteria in an old water tank, pileostegia viburnoides, Trachelospermum jasminoides, Hydrangea seemanii, ferns and water feature with low relief wall sculptures. Bespoke oak and iron tree planter with 20 year old Betula Pendula.
The rear north wall of the workshops is covered with mature Hydrangea seemanii and Parthenocissus henryana in bespoke original cast jesmonite planter.

Visits booked during week 17 June-7 July in conjunction with ArtsRichmond Open Studios Festival. Variety of work on show in downstairs studios: painting, prints, ceramics and sculpture.
