About 2 Manor Farm Mews
A modern, contemporary formal garden designed by Carole Carrigan, of almost a quarter of an acre that rises gently up a shallow slope. A large patio of intersecting semi-circles is surrounded by low walls, a herb garden and lavender hedges. Shallow circular steps lead up to formal lawns bordered by gravel paths. Buxus hedging, topiary and overflowing mixed herbaceous beds. Pathways lead to hidden shady retreats, including a summer house to sit and enjoy different views of the garden and the neighbouring church spire. The garden has interest almost all year round, beginning with a large spring display of Hellebores, Snowdrops and spring bulbs in the young woodland. Summer brings later flowering bulbs and a mass of insect, bird and bee friendly perennials and shrubs. Autumn still finds the garden in flower with Roses, Salvias and Dahlias, complimented by crab apples on trees and espaliers. There are growing collections of Hellebores, Roses, Agapanthus, Hemerocallis and Salvias.
