20 Spanton Crescent

The front south facing garden has two beautiful trees - a lime green robinia tree and a maroon leafed flowering plum. The planting colour palette is warm and welcoming with red, yellow and orange shrubs and flowers. The rear garden is a walled garden and has three semi circular gravel beds, one white, one lilac and one pink, a central gravel bed with a pergola covered in vines and climbers.

About 20 Spanton Crescent

The front garden welcomes you with roses, salvias and penstemons amongst many others complimented by heucheras and grasses all of which love the sunny disposition. The fence has climbing roses, clematis and jasmines.

The walled rear garden is laid out with three semi circular beds which are now all gravel beds. The first is a white bed – with roses, fuchsias, daisies and Japanese wind anemones – the fences are covered in white climbing roses and clematis. The second gravel bed is a lilac bed planted with lilac and purple roses, penstemons, fuchsias, salvias and verbena bonariensis and has a giant cynara which is a joy to behold. Again the wall has climbers – clematis, roses and wisteria mainly. Moving on to the pink bed – it has a pink roses, gaura, masses of clematis including one of my favourites ‘Lady Diana’ to name but a few.
In the centre is a large gravel bed with grape vines, climbing roses and clematis covering the pergola and providing much needed shade for the seating area. The gaura and verbena bonariensis thrive in this sunny garden.
Pots with figs, roses and hostas line the walls.
There is a walk way with a mixture of pink, white and lilac planting to provide interest above the main garden. My studio area has olive trees in pots (no olives so far!) and pots with roses and osteospermum.
