30 Urlwin Street

Lovingly created out of a wilderness over 16 yrs this immaculate garden reflects the elegance of the Georgian house (not open), in a quiet street off busy Camberwell. Structure is key and unusual trees and shrubs are kept well shaped. Water lilies thrive in a goldfish pond with golden Orfe and Shubunkin. An unexpected gate leads to a deeply planted gravel garden. Don't miss the trompe l'oieil corner.

About 30 Urlwin Street

This garden may surprise with its size, situated as it is in a quiet leafy road just seconds away from the bustling traffic of Camberwell. It is made up of two parts , one is an elegant classical almost courtyard area with neatly clipped shrubs, a generous lawn and an elegant lily pond; the second is hidden away at the back and offers a shady woodland scene above a gravel base with colourful large perennials. It wasn’t always this way, but over nearly two decades attention has been carefully lavished on it to make it look as if it has been there for generations. Another surprise in a slightly tucked away is some amazing trompe l’oeil !
