About 38 Lovelace Road
This gem of a garden is all-white at the front and with a back that gives the illusion of going on forever. It is full of interest all year round. Whilst it can take the wear and tear of a busy family, dogs and all that goes with them, it remains a tranquil space for people, birds and other creatures – in quiet moments we’ve seen frogs, newts, many birds and an occasional hedgehog.
The back-garden slopes gently upwards with curving borders, packed with an informal mix of roses, perennials and annuals. The hostas planted alongside the stream have been doing particularly well and there are several mature Japanese acers adding shape and structure. There are seating areas including a Japanese nook, each offering a different view of the garden or a place to hide.
Home-made teas include tea, coffee and a lovely selection of delicious cakes.
