About Avalon
The garden has been designed to flow with interlinked paths and beds linking the wooded and more open areas. Advantage has been taken of the many different planting conditions from shade to sun and from damp to dry, and improvements are constantly being made to add interest and new plants. There are lots of hidden areas. Wherever possible planting has been used to attract wildlife such as birds and insects. The garden owner takes part in local horticultural shows, mainly entering daffodils, roses and dahlias, plus some fruit and vegetables, which are all grown in the garden. The garden is often described as a “Woodland wonderland”. It has wonderful ever changing atmospheric views of the local countryside, the Swale, Isle of Sheppey, Thames estuary and Essex on a good day, plus points of interest such as local churches and Mt Ephraim.
