About Bronllys Court
The development of the garden has been a labour of love for the owner and has been fired by her passion for sharing the healing powers of plants, nature and the word around us. Visiting this garden is an education in the ancient science of herbalism and Amanda-Jane will be very happy to share her knowledge with visitors.

“My family relocated from Cambridgeshire to Powys in 2018 with a dream to start a smallholding specialising in goat’s cheese. That didn’t exactly go to plan! Once here, I investigated the history of the garden and discovered that, at one time, the fountain and walled garden had been special features, as well as the orchards. Due to this legacy, I decided to concentrate my efforts on the land itself, working with what was here already rather than trying to impose my will. Seven years in the making – the gardens now offer an abundance of biodiversity that opens possibilities for nature connection experiences.
I am a community herbalist growing every medicinal herb, shrub and tree I need to support my friends and family. We grow to regenerative principles such as no-dig beds, companion planting and mulching. I use compost made on-site and feed green leaf plants with homemade comfrey tea. The garden has different areas, such as the formal lawn (once a tennis court and now a lovely spot for cream tea), the memorial garden, ceremony circles, a small food forest and orchard, a wild meadow and a vegetable garden. Some of the old walled garden remains, which is now full of roses, artichokes and climbing berries. There are three ponds, one large and two smaller and all support a myriad of wildlife”.
