About Burton Grange

In 2014 this was the proverbial blank canvas, and since then we have created a garden with different contrasting elements. The pergola garden is the most formal area with stunning lavender and roses. Other borders have more relaxed planting, with soft colour schemes – white foxgloves, geraniums, kolkwitzia, cistus. The water lily pond is enclosed in borders of grasses, veronicastrum, irises and contrasting planting. Paving and gravel round the house host alpines, dierama, erodium and other plants that have found their way there, often by accident. There’s a wilder area where a path is mown through long grass, interspersed with camassia, wild geraniums and roses, and a view over the fields. Some impressive mature trees add a sense of permanence and calm and there are several seating areas. Home made teas and plants will be available.
