About Bwlch y Geuffordd

This beautiful 1.5 acre garden has been imaginatively created in a hillside setting with fine views over fields to the Cambrian mountains. The garden has many surprises: a paved patio with lily pond & a lower lawned area with traditional border lead up through winding stepped pathways & grassy slopes to rising terraces, each with careful planting of an impressive range of plants, many of them unusual, and a wide variety of trees.

Rhododendrons, azaleas & camellias make a spectacular display of spring colour as they climb up the hillside. Damp-loving plants such as gunnera, ferns & hostas thrive around the fish ponds & streamside areas. The natural woodland areas provide shade for acers & for carpets of bluebells, celandines, and other wildflowers in the spring.

A large conservatory houses rare cacti, unusual insectivorous plants, flowering potted plants, bougainvillea, large Mediterranean plants and climbers. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your tea in wet or chilly weather. The old stone farm buildings are swathed in rambling roses.

Many seats provide different vistas & sculptures are encountered throughout the garden which has an inspiring & contemplative atmosphere.

Steep banks and steps make parts of the garden difficult for people with mobility problems.
