The front garden at the bottom has a winter garden featuring aconites, pasque flowers and dog tooth violets then higher up on the left has large camellia, lilac, magnolia and rhododendron bushes for the spring. On the right flowering shrubs and bedding give summer interest. Along the right of the front drive are many flowering shrubs with interest from February – November including magnolias, weigela, potentilla, veronicas, camelias, japonicas, christmas laurel and daphne. Near the top is a patio with bulbs in pots for the spring and bedding plants in the summer, backed by yet more flowering shrubs (chrinodendron, daphne, hypericum). The side garden is quite extensive, covering half an acre. Further up is a large soft fruit cage, vegetable cages, vegetable gardens, a herb garden and more soft fruit. Higher up still is a 15 tree orchard. Beyond the orchard lies a grass and specimen tree area with several thousand bulbs, which give a spectacular display in the spring. Two sides of the side garden are surrounded by woods and these are edged in winter and spring with snowdrops, aconites, wood anemones, dog tooth violets, bluebells, scilla, star of Bethlehem and tête-à-tête daffodils. There is a small back garden with coldframes, roses, gladioli and a magnolia. Please note there is a steep drive and two flights of steps to get to the main garden.
