About Conderton Manor
We have inherited a wonderful garden which has become our joy. We have always loved a garden with a view which is what we now have in abundance. We have planted new borders to enhance the interest in the garden throughout the year. There is something to see at almost any time of the year…..Conderton Manor was built in the 1680s, but the garden today dates from the 1960s, when it was extended to its present seven acres. It was landscaped to maximise the glorious views towards the Cotswolds and down the Vale of Gloucester. The main features are: Formal Terrace with clipped box parterre, planted with standard roses. The Old Kitchen Garden has huge arches covered in roses, vitis, clematis; the wall has been planted with climbing roses and late-flowering clematis; rose borders with geraniums and hemerocallis; lavender beds with roses, peonies and aquilegia. The Quarry Garden was created under a massive weeping willow with primulas in spring and other waterside plants. By the tennis court are 50 year old tree peonies in May. Over years many unusual trees have been planted in the garden and adjoining orchard and this now makes a very special small arboretum. This is a garden to visit all year round with particular highlights in spring for the daffodils, flowering cherries and young tree foliage; October/November for glorious leaf and berry colour. A must to visit for tree lovers at all seasons
Tea/coffee and biscuits. Wine/snacks may be offered on an evening visit.
