About Dunbheagan
Our aim is to have something in flower every day of the year and so far we have achieved this. Planting is mainly by extensive island and border beds which include our ‘hot’ bed, gravel bed, rockery and pond, pink/purple, silver/pink and many, many more. Our innovative ‘heaven and hell’ beds make people stop and think.
‘Heaven’ is full of roses, sweet smelling herbs, pastel colours and with plants named for their heavenly qualities ie. Salvia Blue Angel. ‘Hell’ is full of vibrant colours and plants associated with hellish names ie. Crocosmia Lucifer.
We have a carnivorous plant bog which fascinates everyone. In our shady area the trees are underplanted with shade loving plants and bulbs. There are too many beds to mention here. Grass and barked paths wind through and around the beds in all directions. As plantaholics we love to have as many different plants as possible and are constantly making changes.. There is always something different to come along and see. Visitors can find many areas to relax and enjoy with plenty of seats around the garden. We have gradually collected several metal sculptures by local artist blacksmith Toby Winterbourn.
