Forest Gate Community Garden

Full of ideas for re-use and sustainability, FGCG provides a haven for people and wildlife just minutes from a busy town centre. A beautiful outdoor community space for events and learning features a wildlife pond teeming with tadpoles, a buddleia arch, a shelter, an art space, and planters dedicated to botanist Dr John Fothergill. Our focus is increasingly on pollinators and native species.

About Forest Gate Community Garden

Forest Gate Community Garden opened in 2016 in a diverse and deprived area of East London. Over 70 volunteers converted a derelict site into a thriving community hub, now used by a multitude of groups and schools as a place to volunteer and learn about nature.
Over 10 years we have become more focused the increasing impact of climate change and the need to adopt sustainable gardening practices.
