Gorsey Bank Gardens

Gorsey Bank is a charming hillside hamlet at the southern edge of the historic market town of Wirksworth, set in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. This group features 4 gardens which demonstrate contrasting design responses to challenging terrain with a wide variety of planting; 2 Brooklands Ave has been developed since 2019, using a naturalistic planting style, with many interesting and unusual plants. Fern Bank is a cottage garden set in a small former quarry, surrounded by farmland, with beautiful views. Mill Cottage is a secluded cottage style garden with mill stream and architectural features, with seating areas to enjoy the different aspects. Watts House is a delightful tranquil cottage garden. Ticket sales at 2 Brooklands Ave. The four gardens are within comfortable walking distance, although it is a steep uphill walk on tarmac to Mill Cottage and Fern Bank, but the gardens and spectacular views are well worth the effort. The walk to Watts House is relatively flat.
