About Hammond Place
A family garden around a Scandinavian style house and cabin with a Finnish sauna.
It is a small garden which we try to make interesting all seasons of the year and, we like to try out different plant combinations in the borders. We grow fruit and berries for jam. Vegetables and herbs are grown in raised beds. Many tulips are planted for spring interest. The greenhouse is used for winter protection of tender plants and in the summer for growing mainly tomatoes and peppers. We use no insecticides and try and make our garden attractive for insects and birds. The pond is used by frogs and dragon flies. In the evening bats will fly up from the castle.
